Bird Of Paradise - Wooden Kinetic Sculpture

My first attempt at making anything like this. Inspired by some of the amazing wooden clocks I've seen floating around youtube. Took me roughly 8 months from conception to completion (though, I wasn't working on it constantly). Made from Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry wood), Black Walnut and Baltic Birch plywood and Brass. Features a gravity based ratchet with counter weight for auto winding by lifting the main weight. Runs approx 90 minutes on a wind.
